Contemplace

An asylum for those who feel over-stimulated, a hidden door to Narnia for those who seek magic, and a perfect place for anyone, who needs to truly rest.

We are 700 meters above sea level and dozens of kilometers from commitments, flashing ads and the hustle and bustle of urban living. A place designed for contemplation — for travels through the mind’s yet undiscovered nooks and crannies and for strolling across wooded hills. Our Contemplace is only you — and it is a little piece of heaven.

Houses

We have built two independent houses in the buffer zone of Karkonosze National Park. Modern and cozy interiors surrounded by untouched Nature and crystal clear creeks — this is Contemplace.

The houses have been designed to form an integral part of the natural landscape and ecosphere. A glazed curtain wall, large windows and a spacious terrace allow the forest into the house. Here, our guests move smoothly between modern architecture and primeval forest, and return to the idylls of long passed centuries.

There is a steep driveway to the house. For safety, please park at the bottom of the road on our neighbour’s premises.

Unlimited access to fireplace wood during the autumn-winter season.

Fast Internet

In case you need to work from home, there is an office and espresso maker on the mezzanine floor.

In harmony with nature

The marked trails of Karkonosze lead hikers through a wonder tale featuring the people of the woods as main characters against the mossy forest scenery. Unwilling to interfere with the surrounding natural world, we have created a place where man and Nature co-exist in harmony — a place with the least possible impact on the environment.

There are no natural skins and furs or displays of antlers or trophy heads to be found in our interiors — we respect the lives of our co-inhabitants of this Earth.
The house surroundings are not lit due to respect for the nocturnal animals in our environs.
We support biodiversity — we do not mow the grass surrounding our cabins — the natural grasses in which our cabins are set are a hiding place for forest fauna.
We support locality. We have built our homes from local, natural materials — and in cooperation with local companies.

Borowice

In the 19th century, nobody knew about this place, not even the local residents on the other side of the mountain. Probably that is why Max Heizel, a German poet, chose Borowice for his very own, intimate and quiet hideaway, where he rested, found inspiration and created. Nowadays, this small village is still far from being a busy tourist destination. It is simply a perfect location for Contemplace. I guess it can be said that, sometimes, you can truly may find everything in the middle of nothing. You are warmly invited!
